Weathered Block Limestone Mantel with a Corbelled Shelf

The most raw and eroded mantel in the collection, and the least carved. The shelf is assembled from rough limestone blocks that step out on heavy corbelled ends, the frieze is simply more of the same stone left as found, and the legs are thick tapering blocks with worn arrises. Deep pitting, open pockets and old erosion cover almost every face. The hearth is a rough slab and the firebox behind is laid in herringbone brick with a fire lit. It suits farmhouses, mountain houses, lodges and interiors after genuine rough stone.
