Deep Carved Frieze Limestone Mantel with Corner Blocks

The tallest carved frieze in the collection, and the deepest cut. An oval cartouche at the centre is wrapped in foliate scrolls that run out to the ends of the frieze, and the shelf above breaks forward over a moulded corner block at each side. The legs are scrolled consoles carved with long acanthus leaves that curl at the foot onto a raised hearth. The limestone is a warm cream, clean and evenly coloured. Photographed on a dark chimney breast, it suits family rooms, media walls, living rooms and larger residential interiors.
